RankingBeauty ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR).
What we collect
- Listing enquiries: when you submit a salon via our form or email us, we receive the details you provide (e.g. salon name, contact email, website).
- Voting data: when voting is enabled, we record a vote together with a coarse, time-limited record of your IP address solely to prevent duplicate voting. We do not use it to identify you.
- Usage data: standard server logs and, if enabled, privacy-friendly analytics.
Why we use it
- To operate the directory, process listing requests and respond to enquiries.
- To keep rankings fair (one vote per salon per day).
- To maintain the security and performance of the site.
Legal basis
We rely on our legitimate interests in running a fair directory and responding to your requests, and on your consent where required.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We use service providers such as our hosting platform (Cloudflare). Some booking links are affiliate links to Treatwell and Fresha; if you follow them, those companies process your data under their own policies.
Retention
Vote de-duplication records expire automatically (within ~24 hours). Enquiry emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
Your rights
